In high school, Michael took 25 AP exams with an average score of 4.7 (a state record), 1590 on the SAT (first attempt), and was invited to speak to the U.S. Department of State. He ranked in the top 100 individuals nationally for the International Brain Bee, International Biology Olympiad, Scholastic Scrimmage, Horatio Alger Association National Scholars, Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship, and competed at the national-level in math, chemistry, physics, ecology, neuroscience, and other topics.
Michael has taught a wide assortment of students and subjects, from graduate students at Harvard to 3-year-olds. In Michael’s teaching career, he has trained students for the International Mathematics Olympiad, been contracted to co-author a SAT textbook, created online video resources, wrote and piloted various STEM curriculums, and has been flown cross-country to establish elite mathematical training programs.
Michael’s prior tutees report great academic success, with an average SAT Math score of over 700. All prior AP tutees have passed their respective exams. Michael has coached students to perfect scores on the American Mathematics Competition, has taught a 9-year-old calculus, and helped an 8-year-old receive a SAT Math score of 730. Michael has helped numerous students prepare college and graduate applications; many of his prior tutees are now in MD, PhD, MPH, and NP programs.
Because of Michael’s extensive AP background, he is a unique resource for students preparing for these exams and is actively soliciting students who wish to independently prepare for AP courses which are not offered at their school. He is a strong tutor for the SAT, math and other STEM courses, and college application preparation. Michael is excited to work with driven students to achieve their greatest personal dreams.
Due to Michael’s personal background, he cares about extending elite preparatory education and college guidance to first-generation and low-income college applicants. In his free-time, Michael breeds guppies, plays chess, and creates blue-prints for various inventions.
